'The Family' a commission
These paintings depict 'The Family' with one prerequisite the paintings were to be in the style of Doug Hyde their favourite artist with my own artistic twist.
Who are the dogs in 'The Family'?
'Otis', a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. “Give him a ball and a yard of grass and he'll give you a move with the perfect pass..” Otis was willing to sit, smile and pose for a photo when I presented him with pair of 70's plastic children's glasses, then continued playing with his ball.
'Honey', a pure Beagle. Selective hearing, but no matter how quiet you was she could hear a fridge door being opened at a 100yards and within seconds would appear as if by magic. She enjoyed her walks keeping the boys in line.
'Buzz', a Beagle cross. He liked to sit up high observing the world. He also liked to think he was independent when he went out on walks, dawdling behind on a sniffing adventure appearing not to belong to anyone. If you walk too far in front of him he'd come hurtling towards you, if you caught him at the right time he would slow to walk and start acting like he was King of the park.
