 ART Last week I introduced you to Debra Esterhuizen a felt artist who went to live in Tuscany and resided in the same locality as Giotto. I didn't really know who this person was so I went to look him up and thought I would share with you. Giotto di Bondone was an Italian painter and architect from Florence in the late middle ages. He was born around 1266 or 1267 and died January 8th 1337. Giotto is said to have been one of the first great artists who contributed to the Renaissance.

A lovely waff of Rhubarb comes through on the sniff test with a slight sweetness. They use Rhubarb juice in this and to be honest I thought it was going to taste of a Rhubarb crumble with chucks of sourness escaping the sweet juice. But this doesn't, thankfully as it's a beer it should really taste of beer not a bottle of pop! There is a small tang on the tongue. It certainly doesn't drink like a 6.9%. It is very drinkable and it's not one of those over powering fruit beers that are sweet and may as well be placed next to the Rekordling on the other shelves. This has great balance and doesn't pack a punch with the Kiwi hops stripping your mouth. A nice beer to have on a summers day, and not your usual IPA. In case you needed more convincing and a proper write up about it try this one from Two Thirsty Gardeners. GARDEN Last week I spoke about my Oriental poppy and said I would share photo's. I was lucky enough Thursday morning to see one unfold in front of me. There is approximately 40 heads (I lost count) and now is almost taller than me (5ft 3 and ¾). Thursday evening quite a few had opened up and unfortunately that night were blown off. There is still new flowers appearing and hopefully it will last all week.
 But did you know the Oriental poppy or it's posh Latin name Papaver orientale, is actually native to Caucasus, north eastern Turkey, and northern Iran. I actually thought it was China/Japan??!! The Oriental Poppy is closely related to the Papaver Bracteatum or the Iranian poppy / Persian Poppy and The Great Scarlet Poppy which is a sturdy hardy perennial poppy with large deep red flowers up to 8inches (20cm) diameter on stiff stalks up to 4 feet (1.22 metres) high with a prominent black spot near the base of the petals. But, looking at all the different hybrids of the Oriental poppies I can not find ours. Can anyone name it for me please? Would you like me to save you some seeds from it? Gravity – Mixed reviews in the house and with film buffs about this film even though it was nominated for a fist full of Oscars and won 7 of them. IMDb describes the film as 'A medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after a catastrophe destroys their shuttle and leaves them adrift in orbit.' I describe it as Not much talking, a lot of floating and spinning. I like Sandra Bullock and I didn't mind the film. **
 Game of Thrones season 3 – Entire series done in a weekend. Obnoxious little blonde king who sits on the sword throne gets more up himself. Dragon lady is as hard ass has her dragons, but still manges to look sexy all the time. The little dude gets married to someone a third of his age. The ice wall is scaled and they find It's actually not grim up North after all. **** It was close this month to the five stars. Did any film get your five stars??  Tunes of the week
A few weeks ago a 30 second advert appeared on T.V for Leon Bridges, it played a snap shot of two tunes. I have never bought an album from someone I’ve never heard of without hearing all their single releases from that album first. But, for some reason last week I waltzed into HMV and bought it. 'Coming home' has been playing in my car all week and I can quite honestly say I'm not sure which is my favourite. Here's his website They are all full of soul, here's a couple of tracks of his.
