Where has the time gone?

Dear Gentle Reader - Where has the time gone since my last blog! Well I can tell you some of it was spent watch Bridgerton. Did you see it, was you gripped or did you stay clear of all the fuss and palaver? Well I enjoyed it, 15 years ago I wouldn't have been watching that kind of thing it just wasn't my scene, but how times change.

Admittedly I do need to watch less T.V I have a ton of books upstairs to read and so much art I want to do and things I want to tell you about. Then there's a heap of things calling for my attention in the garden and not to forget about my Man who is currently in his words a Art show widow. I have been doing a lot of Craft Fairs, Farmers Markets and Agricultural Shows since I wrote you last and boy have I had a blast, so thank you to everyone who bought something from me it is so much appreciated. But I've not finished yet I have a few 'proper' art shows to attend and a few more crafty things left to attend. So pop over to my Events page to have a gander at what I have left to attend this year.
I have, when the sun has allowed it and in the mood been busy creating outdoors. Inside its still being renovated and it's a tad dark and dusty. My painted Terracotta pots were fun to create and gave me the umph I needed to get on with my art for the walls. My Dragon is a little further on and I am hoping that when you read this blog I will be well on the way to finishing it. But for now this is how it looks. I do need it completed for September 2024 though!. I have completed two drawings for Lino prints, just need to cut the lino and print, These were supposed to be ready for Mid August but as I have so much on my little Art in the Car at Lunch crating time only was safe enough for me to draw the lino cuts first. Fingers crossed next week I'll have printed them and not gouged any fingers from my hand in the process.

When I'm not doing Art in the Car at lunch time I'll go and find a spot in the Castle Gardens (where I work) and chill. My favourite place is sitting at the base of this tree through most of the year. It is an Atlas Cedar which was planted around 1920, but up until a decade ago it was pretty tall standing at between 25-30 metres till a storm chopped it down in size. But now I have to try and find a quiet spot as the tourists are now happily exploring the Castle gardens. This is another one of those things I want to tell you about, Lowther Castle and Gardens. I've been coming to the place since I moved to Cumbria in 2011 and now I work here for Lowther Forestry. At some point I'll tell you all about the lovely place and how it's evolved over the years, but Ill let you into a secret Susan Calman and Micheal Portillo visited with their T.V crew the other day so what out for us on their shows soon.

And on that little note I better sign off. Lots of everyday chores to do, paintings to finish and start some new ones, garden to landscape and a house to refurbish - still! Actually that last statement falls to the Man, I'm just there as the muscle when he needs an extra body to lift plaster boards or joists in place.
May your weekend be an enjoyable one, and the week ahead is full of sunshine. But remember take time to sit, relax and enjoy what ever it is that floats your boat even if it is for only 5 minutes.

P.S Does anyone know what this moth is? It's the first time I've seen one of these and it looked like something the RAF had created LOL. I love it!
