![]() Eyup Ladies and Gentlemen As you may have seen, or, about to experience I am a little bit different. ART I have many favourite artists and some of you will know already that one of my favourite paintings is 'The Great Wave' by Katsushika Hokusai. A Japanese artist born around October 1760 and died on the 10th May 1849. The painting is in a series called 'Thirty Six paintings of Mount Fuji'. I couldn't believe it when I realised they weren't water colour paintings but were actually woodblock paintings! So in true Halfpint style the last place I lived I decided to paint 'The Great Wave' in my bathroom right next to the bath! If I ever find the photo I took before I left I will share it with you. Picture featured is another one of his paintings 'Rider in the snow'. BEER Eden Brewery Ltd who I work for has been selected (a while ago) to be in the Selfridges Best of British advent beer calendar. I hope if you managed to buy the tree you enjoy our offering and the other beers. Tell me which was your favourite. Wychwood 'Bah Hum Bug' is my first Christmas beer this year. Smells like that Christmas cake mixture your mum pours too much navy rum in before she puts it in the oven for hours and hours. There is a taste I do recognise, but maybe out of context - let me go and check the bottle. Ooo it's Cinnamon, yeah that's it, but, with a malty twist. Don't think I can drink a full bottle of it (but that's not a bad thing). However their Gingerbeard goes down within half an hour. COVERED IN WEEDS So how great has this weather been since May?? No that's not sarcasm, I'm serious. I have a little Yellow Dahlia called Linda (I did not name it that! My man bought it me with the name on) which is still flowering and so too are lots of others that probably shouldn't be. My Iris’s and Daffodils have started to sprout up too. Now I hope the good weather hasn't ruined any chance of a good show next Spring. Is there anything I should be doing to help them be wonderful for next year? Answers in the comments section please. MUSINGS This weekend is a busy one for me, so whilst you are sat reading this blog (assuming it's the weekend) with a warm coffee and a slice of Marmalade toast, I will have been up and out for 6am and heading to the Dickensian Festival in Ulverston with Eden Brewery. It'll be our first time and apparently the Christmas Fair is that popular they bus people in from miles around! I just hope we have enough beer for the two days. Many Potters, Crafters and Artisans are out and about at Fairs this weekend selling their wares for Christmas. Gwen Bainbridge is off to the Brewery in Kendal for their festival and Mary Chappelhowe is at the Manchester Christmas Market. Is there a local Fair that you like to attend each year happening near you? Put it in the comments page and let the world know. Enjoy whatever you are getting up to on your week ahead and I'll see you here again this time next week with the happenings in Halfpint land. I haven't heard it for ages. Carter USM Only Living Boy In New Cross. Fruit Bat the guitarist was the one who rugby tackled Philip Scofield to the ground at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party. And with this link I bid you farewell. P.S None of the links above have been sponsored, although Gwen does occasionally shares her Ginger Biscuits with me.
