ART
You'd be surprise when reading about one persons art work where it can lead you to someone else's in one fail swoop. I featured Paper Panda back in April and it's through Louise that I've found this gent, Wolfram Kampffmeyer or Paper Wolf as he's known to people who love his work. He studied Computer Animation in Ludwigsburg, Germany, and loves to create 3D models going one step further by constructing them out of paper.

The little big piggy was his first.
I can just imagine these paper creations adorning his daughters room, how great are these for your children. But hey, you too can make them! In 2014 his popularity got so big he couldn't keep up with supply and demand as well as creating more (which must take weeks to create and get right) wonderful 3D paper animals, so his friends stepped in. In 2015 he created a Paperwolf Productions GbR to help with such orders and take the load off.

BEER
VIRU Premium Estonian Beer 5.0%
Lets get one thing straight, YES I bought the beer for the bottle! A bottle with History (sort of). It's apparently a 100 year old Imperial Russian Design is styled on the medieval towers found in Tallinn. The beer is named after a former Independent County in Ancient Estonia known as Virumaa. And even the labelling is the Flag colours of Estonia. Right that's the history lesson now the beer.

Nice Golden colour with a slight green tinge. There is a smell I can't pin point, but I'm sure I get a hint of Vanilla. I'm sure I've smelt this hop before?! First taste – 'ooo that's nice'. My tongue feels creamy after I’ve tasted it and I taste the hops which are even more familiar now. I would say this beer was more for a lager fan. A nice step into decent lager/beer (brewed by a micro brewery or someone a little bigger) for a Stella (other tasteless, gassy, mass produced lagers are available) drinker coming to their senses. It's a very nice smooth, clean drinkable lager. The barley is apparently form Lithuania and the water is drawn from the artisan wells at the brewery. So here's a bit of advice. Barbecue this weekend? Go buy a load for those chemical lager drinking mates of yours and just educate them slightly.

The hops are bugging me so I'm off to check something out.....Way hey I'm getting good at this it's actually a Pilsner styled beer! The hops? That'll be the Saaz – no wonder I know it, we use it along with another hop in our Eden Gold and Pilsner 66.

Hey all you World Superbike fans – if you didn't know they sponsored Suzuki in 2010. And they say 'Oled see, mida jood' Which in English translation means You are what you drink. In Yorkshire – Drink crap, you look crap!

For more information on where sells it and anything else here's their website and here's the twitter account. I've seen that Tesco's have been selling it since 2007 and since then World Wide Domination began. I got mine from Booths (the Waitrose of the North – so they say).
Well I'm off to buy more!

GARDEN
This month thanks to Twitter I have learnt the name of two plants that i have over the years lost tags for. One of which is an oddball really. Not one you see in every garden, the other, well I'm starting to see this more in garden centres. (or notice more because i have one).

First up we have -
Allium Nectarscordums Siculum. Another name for it is the Sicilian Honey Garlic, or, Summer Bells. It's leaves smell of Garlic 9but not the wild garlic smell, more subtle). I love how the flowers when dying back actually start to stand on end and group back together like a Shuttle cock falling back to Earth (imagination needed)
They maybe renowned for attracting bee's which they did I saw at least four different types of bees at them one of which I haven't seen before. They also according to my local small Nursery they are deer/rabbit resistant, not in our garden look what I caught trying to nibble them ;-)

Last but not least -
Helichrysum Ruby Cluster or, Star Flower. I bought this pant in Homebase in 2007 one of the first plants that appeared in my front garden. My next door neighbour looked after the back garden as on his patch he had vegetables and my patch their Grand childs swing. The previous owners never used the space at the back. So the deal was they cut the lawn and we all use it and on occasion I nicked a few broad beans.
Back to the plant. It starts of with some really bright red buds and this was what attracted me, over the weeks they bloomed into paper like flowers that were started pinkish and turn peach coloured with a yellow centre. I love plants that's surprise you like this.

What's the star attraction in your garden this month? Please tell me below in the comments.

MUSINGS
As ever I take annual leave and the good weather vanishes and out come the rain and clouds. With this I apologise to the entire Country. We planned a few things, but, we know in Cumbria plans change so quickly because of the weather.

The veg patch still needs doing, but the way our garden/house has been built it slides into the garden opposite, so we dig behind the shed to sort a little wall out and find.. The shed is slopping into one corner and the edge of the garden is sitting on plastic bags holding our side up, so naturally the clay is soggy and sinking. Big job that has been, and going for a bit, which is now starting to see an end. I had plans to do my art and finish a painting – Game of Thrones season 4 got in the way and so did the sunnier days where we went off adventuring. Oh and the bathroom still shows plaster and no paint in places, life gets in the way! Lol

Picture
Looks like my May list of things to do will continue into August and it will grow. This month I must finish that painting I'm doing and start another (maybe). I haven't been hibernating though I have been reading. My favourite magazine that I've bought every month since it appeared on newstands (with exception to a few months) I've finally read December, January and February 2015!!! So in my world it's only just been Christmas, and, Summer is just around the corner (or further down south in the English Riviera) lol

By the way if you are new to my blog, do you see the RSS button up there on the right? If you like my blog and want an easier way to find it, just press that button, it will then appear under you search bar at the top of your screen, simples.

Tunes for the week
The Dharmas Runaway Saw these in Wolverhampton? Back in the early 90's a friend took me to see them. Know idea why, not sure if they happened to be in the same pub as us, but i thought they were great and spent £3 on a CD.

    Little ol' me

     Halfpint?!

My nickname has nothing to do with any alcoholic measure. Thank you to a friend deciding one day whilst my hair was in plaits that I looked like Laura Ingalls in 'The Little House on the Prairie'.
