ART
I found this lady on Facebook a few years ago and was amazed what she could do with a sharp Knife and a piece of paper. Let me introduce to you the lady known as Paper Panda. Louise started in 2010 in a small cottage in the Cotswold surrounded by all sorts of woodland creatures, which is what inspired her 'Bird and Bunny' range. I love her FB Hedgehog, he gets up to allsorts
.

Picture

The business has grown over the years making various different paper cuts affordable in different formats. Louise seems to love Alice in Wonderland and has some great scenes depicted.

For those Terry Prachett Discworld fans Paper Panda also cut out some characters and reproduced them as greeting cards.

Thanks to Paper Panda there are now quite a few people hooked on Paper cutting through online groups using her paper cutting starter kit. Her Man is also a supporter of Paper Panda as he helps to design the occasional artwork for Louise to cut. If you would like to know more about Paper Panda here you go. And you can Follow on Twitter and Facebook.

BEER
Wye Valley - Dorothy Goodbody Imperial Stout Limited 6000 bottles
Best after 2010 Best before 2020

Liquid Treacle in a glass is what it looks like. The smell is sumptuous. There's Chocolate (finally I can get a chocolate smell) with Figs. I'm in love with this already and I haven't tasted it yet. I'm also already thinking - Where can I get another bottle???? Mmmmm oo ooo. Go slow Halfpint it's not left over juices from a figgy pudding (without the alcohol). I could smell this all day! And drink it all day. Goes down really smooth and easy. It's rich and packs a good body much like Dorothy.
Wow what a beer to celebrate 25 years of Brewing beers!

This Herefordshire family run business are recognised as the leading cask ale brewer in the county. It was founded by ex-Guinness brewer Peter Amor in 1985. According to the world wide encyclopedia that you can change at the click of a button Dorothy Goodbody not a real person (boo hiss) she's supposedly a hop grower's daughter who developed an interest in brewing in the early 1950s in the village of Dormington, Herefordshire. She looks very much like Marilyn Monroe and has that hour glass figure. Apparently people complained because 'Dorothy' was giving out too much sex appeal and making people drink alcohol. Hmm think those people had one two many cups of the hard stuff!

COVERED IN WEEDS
Well the rain and snow put paid to me finishing off the planting over the last week and the weekend, so hopefully the sun will appear this weekend and I can finish it off. (additional – 7am Saturday morning it's glorious, not a cloud! How long will this last?)
My 'All year round' (hopefully) planter has given me two Tulips and lots of Tulip leaves. Question of the week, why no Tulips from these leaves? Is it because they are young, or, buried too deep? Answers please in the comments section below.

Picture
These two planters had Crocus and Grape Hyacinths planted rather late in them, but I was chuffed to bits when the Purple Crocus appeared two weeks ago. The Grapes are on their way just poking out. Think I may have planted too much in these pots though.

Picture
This pot.... Planted at the same time as the above pots, however... The seeds I acquired from a walk I’d had early October in 2013. I'll not tell you where, think I may be taking after my Granddad, he took nippings (or nickings as I called them) too, in fact if I told you where, it would be 'off with his head'! The seed head which I saved and planted with the seeds to remind me is like an over sized Snakes head Fritillary seed head. It was quite a tall plant but it had died back so I have no clue as to what it is. But something seems to be growing, which I hope is not grass! Maybe I popped something else into it as well? The pot shall now be known as 'The what did I plant in this' pot.
What little delights and surprises have you had this month in your garden?

MUSINGS

After umpteen attempts from my friend to go and play Badminton with her and a few other people I finally succumbed last night. Only as much to support her as she has started up a new club for people wanting to have a go. I haven't played Badminton for sometime, but, I am (or rather it's probably run out) a Level one coach so I know the basics and what I'm meant to do. Part of my last job I introduced Badminton to children. With this in mind the only racket I have is a short handled racket. I used to use it when I was playing a game with them, thought it only fair, so I too had to reach for the high shots. I also was a former athlete and my friend bless her has a habit of telling people (which I don't mind). Some people still see you has an highly tuned athlete who's brilliant at everything. Which isn't the case, I stopped competing in 2000 and haven't done a proper training session on a regular basis since then, So you could say I'm now the same fitness as Joe Bloggs on the street. So as not to intimidate potential newbies to a sport I didn't go in my all singing all dancing sports kit (plus it's a little tight at the moment). I turned up with a Mammot T-shirt, jeans with cuffs on the ankles and a velour (yes I did) white hooded H&M jacket thing. Stylish not, casual yes. Oh and a pair of decent Asics. I was quite surprised with myself, my hand eye coordination was still OK, but, whilst my brain was screaming run over there, jump now and slam it one, my feet were like 'What the hell you playing at woman'.
I enjoyed it, but I was a bad ex athlete, I didn't warm up or cool down (unless you count the 10minute walk to and from the Leisure Centre)! Quess I'm going to regret not doing that on Sunday Morning two days after the event.

A small piece of advice.
It doesn't really matter what you where to do your sport as long as its comfy, not restrictive and is appropriate (Jeans not advisable). A good pair of trainers is always a must – no fancy fashion trainers. It all boils down to have you got decent socks? I wore odd ankle socks last night, a cheap one on the left and a Pringle on the right. The left sock kept slipping and the inevitable happened. Rather the blister didn't get chance to blister properly the skin came off first! Wearing decent socks is a must. Boy is it going to be sore in the morning forget my legs.
Tunes for the week:
The Kinks - Sunny Afternoon
The Animals - House of the rising Sun
The Monkees - Pleasant Valley Sunday (I love this boy band!)
Mungo Jerry - In the summertime (is he really trying to play a bottle?)
Sex Pistols - Holidays in the sun  (saw these perform this live - awesome!)
Funkstar De Luxe vs Bob Marley - Sun is Shinning

Hopefully something for most people there.
Please like and Share, and, don't forget if you'd wish to add a comment please do. Have a great weekend, see ya all next week at the same time.

     Halfpint?!

My nickname has nothing to do with any alcoholic measure. Thank you to a friend deciding one day whilst my hair was in plaits that I looked like Laura Ingalls in 'The Little House on the Prairie'.
