I've finally starting to feel like I'm organised - well this month anyway.

At the beginning of 2020 I was furloughed, much like most of the country, I was one of the lucky few who was paid to be off, I was however, on the endangered species list as I called it, and I made the most of my time off. I spent the first year in the garden re-landscaping it and the second year being more creative.

We had inherited a nice garden from the previous owner, but I wanted to add my mark and my own flowers and I grew vegetables which I also preceded to kill. I talked to the birds and named each one. Banana Bob the Blackbird was a regular, Goldie, 50cent, Snoop and Ice Cube the Goldfinches brought their ladies down to feed on occasion. Yes I also named them after female rappers, can you guess which ones? I enjoyed the lazy days, taking time to enjoy the day and the late breakfasts. I very quickly got out of the rigid routine of working life. But I always had a constant voice in my head "You'll be back at tomorrow". At the end of every month I'd call to ask if I was back in work the next month, always to be met with maybe, I don't know, it's possible?

I never really fully relaxed. I started to become more creative with my art. I organised three virtual art exhibitions for my art club, setting up a website in order to do this. The gardening club I belong too started receiving monthly chatty newsletters from me to keep everyone feeling like a club (now I sit on this committee as well!). When it was safe to do so I volunteered my time at the Art Gallery I exhibit in (volunteer maintained) and helped my pottery friend fulfil orders after being on the T.V.  Rather sensibly I wasn't let loose on the wheel! I became a tad busy - no time to go back to work!

Reflecting back, boy did I need the time away from the Brewery mentally and physically! It also showed me that I did need some form of structure throughout my day, just a more relaxed structure. I was eventually made redundant in November 2021. On the 30th November 2022 I celebrated working in my new administration job at an awesome castle not far from where I live. Sometimes a change is as good as a rest, but I think I needed the rest first. Thank you to all who kept the country running throughout this time
Now I feel ready to pick my blog back up. Art 'Your Artiness' and Garden 'Is it dead yet'? may feature in their own blogs. Daily life, adventures and everything else will feature here in Halfpint Chronicles.

I hope to see you back again and that you enjoy what I write. If you'd like to follow me I am on Instagram, Twitter and if you just want to follow what I'm doing regarding my art it's Facebook.
